Before having a full 50 minute initial consultation, I offer a free introductory call of around 20 minutes. It is a chance for us to speak, for you to ask anything you would like to ask, and for us both to get a sense of whether I may be able to help with the difficulties you are facing.
Please email me at jake@jakefreedman.co.uk to arrange an introductory call. In the email, please let me know what days and times suit you best. I aim to respond to all emails within 48 hours. If you contact me on the weekend, I will reply to your email on the following Monday.
The Introductory Call
The introductory call is a brief, informal conversation, usually by telephone or video. There is no charge and no obligation to go any further. The call is not a therapy session, but rather, it is a chance for us to speak briefly about has prompted you to consider therapy, what you are hoping for, and how I work.
What We Might Talk About
You are welcome to lead with whatever feels most pressing, but people often find it useful to touch on a few things. These include: what has prompted you to look for therapy at present; what you are hoping might happen as a result of having therapy; any questions about psychodynamic therapy or about working with me in particular; and the practicalities, such as fees, frequency, and length of treatment. If, by the end, we both feel it could be worthwhile, we can arrange a full initial consultation.
Who I Work With
I see individual adults privately in person in Fitzrovia, in Central London, and also online. Most of my work is long-term and in-depth, so that the work can develop and unfold at its own pace. I do, however, also work on a short-term basis if you have a particular issue you would like to focus on.
